Don't forget if you go by car

Perhaps after seeing this checklist, you have figured out why most winter sports enthusiasts travel to their ski resort by car. Winter sporters take quite a bit with them!

It is always useful to check that your car is winter-ready. For example, all the lights should work and the various fluids should be full. It is also good to check if your windshield wipers are working and if the tire pressure is correct. Also make sure your battery is performing properly. After all, you don't feel like having to push in the slippery snow. Checked everything? Then at least you're ready to go for a ride. A tip from us: Don't goof up your gas tank completely, but so that you can drive as far as Germany or Belgium. There, gasoline is generally cheaper.

Above all, if you are traveling by car, don't forget to check these items as well:

  • Snow chains (tip: put them on dry at home once so you know how it works!)

Tips for departure

  • Do you have travel insurance with winter sports coverage? An absolute must if you go skiing or snowboarding!
  • Have you already had your board or skis waxed and sharpened? A good condition of your equipment is important!
  • Have you informed your neighbors/family about your departure and shared your destination?
  • Put a timer on the lights.
  • Set your thermostat low
  • Have the plants been watered, has the mail been taken care of, perishables taken and garbage taken away?
  • Have arrangements been made for the pets or are they going on winter vacation with you?
  • Are all windows closed?
  • Are all electrical appliances on standby/off?
  • Are all valuables put away?
