It is always useful to check that your car is winter-ready. For example, all the lights should work and the various fluids should be full. It is also good to check if your windshield wipers are working and if the tire pressure is correct. Also make sure your battery is performing properly. After all, you don't feel like having to push in the slippery snow. Checked everything? Then at least you're ready to go for a ride. A tip from us: Don't goof up your gas tank completely, but so that you can drive as far as Germany or Belgium. There, gasoline is generally cheaper.

- Have you informed your neighbors/family about your departure and shared your destination?
- Put a timer on the lights.
- Set your thermostat low
- Have the plants been watered, has the mail been taken care of, perishables taken and garbage taken away?
